Many babies for a tiny mama!

After several days of a welcomed this:

Checking on this timy mama during storms... that is when goats love to surprise their people with labor, she finally began a real labor this afternoon. A sunny and beautiful day.
To be so little, her belly was huge and her udders dragging the ground.
It seems as though she waited for us to be with her just like with her last baby. Unlike Honey goat, Sweet Pea doesn't mind having all the children around, noise.. nothing. She is an amazing birther. So very vocal.
After the first baby, I bounced her belly to see if there might be one or more babies waiting to arrive. She still had a very firm belly, an indication that there are more.

Yes, there are more... could you leave me to it now. You have helped enough :)

I am little but I do bite when annoyed!

First baby! A buckling, Milo, ready for his first nap!

Milo and Wil

What seemed like forever compared with first, very, very quick birth, came a second. A doe, named Molly. Her hooves were not positioned correctly and Sweet Pea had a hard time so I had to swab up and fish them out. YUCK!

Not too long after came a third. Another buckling. Blue-eyed MUFASA! Oldest farm boy has wanted to name a goat this forever!

So sweet and so loud!

Goat whisperer. No joke!

So thankful that the birth went so well. Sweet Pea is an amazing and very hardy goat. Nigerian Dwarves are great for pets or for milking. I can't wait to milk her again. She is such a good girl! Anyone looking to buy a goat? We have several to sell and another mama due tomorrow! Stay tuned!

We've been considering it! We have beautifully fenced and grassy pastures that get overgrown every summer and it's time to start thinking mammals! I have no idea where you live. If it's anywhere near the Ottawa Valley, we'd consider it!

The babies and their mama are both so adorable! We've narrowed it down to either mini-nubians or nigerian dwarves. If I lived closer, I'd be giving you a call! ;D
