Music! Huge in our family although for a number of years, the insturments were silent. I don't know exactly why...maybe I was too tired to haul children to music lessons and no one seemed to be that interested. That is it, I think. Babies make a person a bit more tired than normal. But they are worth it.
Now we have many instrument players and it is never dull around here.
We have 2 drummers (and 2 different drum sets)... wow loud.
A guitarist, a ukele player who also plays the guitar and a piano player. The drummer/ukele/guitar player also hopes to pick up the cello soon. Who knew that we would go from 0 to 60 in the music world in a few minutes flat? I am thankful. Music is good. Singing is good. So delightful! So thankful to my oldest son for his interest in sharing his love of music and teaching the younger ones what he knows. Such a wonderful young man.
I also listen to Coffee House Rock on our televsion. Found the music channel (with no commercials) months ago and it just fills my musical cup up with most of the music that I love to listen to and be entertained by. Did I mention no commercials ;). Gotta love that aspect as well.
My prayer is that my children all use their musical talents to honor the Lord. None of them want to just make lot of money and "get chicks" (hahaha) and I am pleased with them sharing their goals with me. Ok, they wouldn't mind the money but not with the heavy pricetag on themselves that it costs. I am just pleased as punch they are using time and talents in this way. Music is wonderful.

I was thinking about you this morning! Glad everything is ok in your world. Music is something I have no talent for at all. I have one son who plays the guitar and one the keyboard. My piano? I dust it and it's a great place to set books! Sad but true. Have a beautiful day my friend.xx
We love music too. the kids all play the violin and started at the ages of 4 and 5. They go to lessons almost every week and they too could care less about playing for people. Their first performance for people was at my grandma's funeral a few weeks ago. They played an Amazing Grace medly.
Nice to hear from you again - and in music too :) My sister and I learned piano as children, but she went on to become a very accomplished trumpet player, whereas I just picked out the odd tune now and again. My elder son was a drummer and is a very good self taught guitarist; my younger daughter has a wonderful voice and can play almost any tune on the piano by just listening to it a couple of times.
This afternoon James and i have been listening to salsa music on the iphone while building lego models. I like the iphone because you can just download one or two tunes, instead of having to listen to those dodgy tracks you always get on every album.
Your eldest is a credit to you. xx
